Position Title: : Compliance Manager

a. Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Deputy COO , the Compliance Manager, oversees data collection, follow up with staff members about assigned tasks, and monitor the status of various compliance requirements in relation to the aerodrome certificate and associated documentation. The Compliance Manager will be responsible for oversight of compliance with aerodrome certification requirements.

b. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Identify applicable requirements, regulations and standards and demonstrate compliance with them.
  • Ensure technical manuals, checklists and other documentation are appropriately maintained and incorporate the latest amendments.
  • Ensure that training programs maintain staff proficiency and competency; and
  • Manage the internal audits and coordinate the external audit program.
  • Task management, follow-up meetings, and strategic initiatives
  • Collect, analyze, and document compliance data for both airports
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting on airport operations, focusing on safety and environmental
  • Collaborate with airport managers and compliance specialists to gather and consolidate information across different sites
  • Work independently to gather operational data and contribute to strategic decisions
  • Propose innovative solutions to complex or undefined operational challenges
  • Monitor compliance with FAA regulations, safety management systems, and other relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Support the development of airport master plans, strategic business development initiatives, and performance reviews
  • Help prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management personnel
  • Follow up on business diagnostic initiatives, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and within the scope of regulatory compliance
  • Provide ad hoc support with completing risk assessments, quality assurance reviews, and capital expenditure evaluations

c. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Post-secondary education in aviation, business, performance measurement and benchmarking, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Proficiency with TP 312 (3rd, 4th, and 5th )
  • Strong knowledge of US Aviation Regulations, safety management systems, and FAA
  • High proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Creativity and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and digital), including the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and present data and insights effectively
  • Passion for learning about airport operations, leadership, and compliance
  • Strong organizational skills, self-discipline, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with airport operations software and management systems
  • Impartiality, integrity and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Prior experience in an airport or an aviation-related environment would be desirable

d. Working conditions

  • The incumbent will primarily work on-site/in-office, but occasional off-site work and attendance at in-person meetings will be required
  • The role involves periodic travel to different airport sites for compliance checks and strategic initiatives.
