SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for leading a team of accountants and collaborating across departments to maintain accurate and timely financial records.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

  • Preparing and delivering monthly invoices to SkyCity.
  • Ensuring vendors secure and deliver proper insurance certificates.
  • Assisting Procurement Manager with vendor contract administration.
  • Preparing and overseeing the annual operating budget for the airports.
  • Assisting with the preparation of Revenue, Expense Budgets.
  • Preparing and overseeing the annual Avports’ corporate budget for the airports.
  • Represent the Operations Manager in routine business matters.
  • Supervising the landing fee activities.
  • Maintaining of Airport records in accordance with established procedure.
  • Preparing and distributing billing, including Tenant cost allocation recovery, periodic Tenant fee adjustments and all other business activity fees.
  • Monitoring accounts receivable and collection efforts.
  • Airport purchasing coordinator.
  • Safeguarding of cash.
  • Review and reconciliation of monthly financial reports and accounts to insure accuracy.
  • Analysis of actual financial performance to budget and preparation of variance report.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Airport statistical data.
  • Assisting in the development and periodic review of appropriate airport rates and charges including real estate appraisals/assessments and market studies.
  • Perform awareness of business activities being conducted on the airport and ensure appropriate revenue collection from such activity.
  • Track delinquent accounts and ensure all possible success in collecting on these accounts.
  • Assist in development strategies for increased airport revenues.
  • Maintain and check the business records and report for the airport.
  • Prepare budget variance reports.
  • Track capital expenditures and accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of statistical reports for the Operations Manager; Environmental, Health and Safety Manager; and Compliance Manager.
  • Develop and maintain a computerized airport accounting system.
  • Responsible for maintaining customer contact through positive lines of communication.   Professionally representing the Company through frequent and meaningful contacts with customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Aviation Business Management, or related field preferred.
  • At least four (4) years experience in accounting, and finance with at least two (2) years in a supervisory position desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle problems associated with accounting operations, preparation of trial balances, account analysis and financial statements and reports and supervision.
  • Strong computer skills with ability to effectively utilize programs such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, with ability to learn newly introduced programs such as Sage.
  • Demonstrated ability to function and supervise in a complex environment.
  • Possession of a valid drivers license and maintain driver record compatible with Avports insurance company’s criteria.
  • Demonstrated financial, administrative and management capability.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in and support a teamwork environment, including the airports Safety Management System.
  • Ability to work in a teamwork environment, including our Safety Management System and Quality Management System registered to ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9001-2008 or related standard.
  • Ability to pass continuous security background checks as per Avports criteria.
  • Ability to perform the duties of this classification.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, arc circumference and volume.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of organization. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language effectively. Knowledge of the Spanish language may be helpful.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
