Purpose of the Job
The EHS Manager is responsible for supporting and executing SkyCity’s environmental, health, and safety programs. This role ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and project-specific obligations. The EHS Manager plays a key role in promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace, coordinating audits, training, and incident response activities across SkyCity operations, including subcontractors and construction-related activities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Supports the implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs and initiatives across SkyCity.
- Coordinates safety orientation, skills training, emergency preparedness, and the use of protective equipment.
- Promotes a culture of safety and environmental responsibility through day-to-day engagement and communication.
- Maintains and monitors the Safety Management System (SMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and compliance tracking tools.
- Ensures safety training programs are delivered and tracked and supports the development of new training content.
- Assists in communicating EHS initiatives and updates, including contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.
- Collects and analyzes incident and audit data to support reporting and continuous improvement.
- Participates in the development and implementation of initiatives to reduce incidents and environmental risks.
- Coordinates contractor safety compliance and supports the development of contractor safety manuals.
- Conducts regular audits and inspections of SkyCity facilities and operational areas.
- Maintains accurate records related to training, inspections, audits, and compliance actions.
- Supports emergency planning and response activities.
- Liaises with regulatory agencies as needed for reporting, permitting, and compliance matters.
- Participates in incident investigations and ensures corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensures compliance with applicable government and contract requirements
- Provides input to senior leadership on EHS trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to support EHS objectives.
Supervisory Responsibility
- May provide guidance to EHS coordinators or specialists.
Fiscal Responsibility
- Supports the development and monitoring of the EHS departmental budget.
- Assists in managing environmental monitoring programs (e.g., air quality, water systems).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- 5–7 years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in aviation or construction environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as it relates to EHS.
- Proficient in Safety Management Systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
