Reporting to the CEO, the Director, HR will support the business by fulfilling Project Co. requirements through talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation, HR programs, employee experience, and learning and talent development initiatives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition: Develop recruitment strategies, perform full-cycle recruitment in conjunction with hiring leaders, and ensure compliance with VIDOL requirements.
- Workforce Planning: Business partner with project leaders to understand staffing requirements and influence internal talent movement.
- Learning and Talent Development: Analyze project requirements, develop programs to close skill gaps, drive adoption of learning solutions and maintain up-to-date employee training records in compliance with aviation industry standards.
- HR Programs / Employee Experience:Drive HR initiatives and develop employee experience and recognition programs. i.e. employee onboarding program, engagement surveys, etc.
- Compensation & Benefits: Conduct compensation analysis, develop and administer annual compensation, benefits and retirement plans in conjunction with Project Co. executive team.
- Employee Relations: Manage conflict resolution, HR communications, and employee relations issues.
- Talent Management:Develop and implement performance management processes, tools and resources, facilitate training, and ensure succession plans are in place.
- HR Governance: Develop and maintain HR policies, employee handbook and procedures compliant with local labor laws & applicable aviation regulations. Report and monitor HR metrics to measure effectiveness of HR initiatives.
- HR Systems: Implement HR systems to drive engagement and productivity.
- Other: Ensure seamless integration of HR policies and practices for SkyCity are adhered to by OM subcontractor.
Fiscal Responsibility
Prepares annual budgets for staffing costs
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Post-secondary education – a bachelor’s degree with a major in Human Resource
- Management or Diploma in Human Resources from an accredited college
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in a progressive HR management role
- Strong ability to use MS Office applications
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in a fast-paced project environment and large, multi-faceted companies
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
- Ability to solve complex problems and make effective recommendations
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work proactively and positively as part of a team acting with a sense of urgency and agility

- Solid working knowledge of the major elements of Human Resources and it’s systems and processes
- Ability to liaise and form positive relationships with all levels of employees and management
- Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and determine appropriate required actions Strong knowledge of relevant employment legislation
Working Conditions & Environment

- Habitual travel between airports on St. Croix and St. Thomas
